| In Armenian Embroidery some stitches are named after the city of their
origin, Urfa is one. Urfa's stitches are plain and back-stitch.
Flowers and branches, bunch of grapes with vine leaves, and pomegranates were all fertility symbols. The peacock was for decor while nightingale would be the bird bringing news from home. |
